Governance

Governance deals with the structures and dynamics of rule making and collective action in society. Governance can be seen in broad terms as a system for steering and coordinating collective action. In view of the clamour for political innovations in society, it is important to gain a steady grasp of how new information systems could raise the quality of governance in ways that would satisfy citizen demands.

Advances in IT offer potentially beneficial effects on governance. IT promotes good governance in three basic ways:

  1. Increasing transparency, information, and accountability
  2. Facilitating accurate decision-making and public participation
  3. By enhancing the efficient delivery of public goods and services.

Aside from the Internet, there are other means by which transparency and accountability is promoted though the use of IT. An important thing to consider in this instance is the ability of IT to connect the central offices to the local areas. This paves the way for the enhancement of local inputs to decision-making.

The amount of paper used by the government is greatly reduced by using updated information and database systems. As their documents and processes become digitized, the cost of administrative maintenance is reduced. This freed more resources for use in the distribution of other valuable social goods. Transaction time with the bureaucracy is shortened. Efficient service provision entail having the right services delivered to the right people, and delivered fast when the people need it most.

What we have done for Governance

At PSPL right from its inception we have been working in Governance, with a sole purpose of smoothening the existing system and thus refining the system in a way to make it work faster. We have worked closely with the various departments in and around Odisha which makes us stand out among our competitors.

Over the Years

During our initial days we have worked along with the Orissa State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited to develop the payroll accounting software which then helped the organization to get its payroll system completely automated. Besides this the internal staffs of the department where even given training on the software that was built.

Back then when introduction of digitization in getting of the certificates was a far reaching scope we worked in close collaboration with Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Odisha to get their final certificates printed and to remove the year old burdens faced by the administrative staffs to manually write each certificates.

The insurance sector involves a lot of paper works as it revolves around the hard earned money of the people. We worked with the Department Of Posts, India Ministry of Communications to digitize their existing data.

Digitization of land records is very important as it helps to settle down the unnecessary claims made over land. To avoid such situations we had a challenging task of digitizing the land records of all the Tehsils of Kandhamal District along with the help of Director of Land Records & Surveys, Odisha, Goverment of Odisha.

We have worked in close association with the Directorate of Treasuries & Inspection, Odisha for the implementation of technology in the then existing pension and salary system which helped everyone to get a very transparent financial system.

In the recent times we have been able to make digitization of the Cadastral Maps of the various Anchals in the State of Bihar by working along with ILFS Environment Infrastructure and Services Limited (IEISL).
