Software development is the process of computer programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle and resulting in a software product. The term refers to a process of writing and maintaining the source code, but in a broader sense of the term it includes all that is involved between the conception of the desired software through to the final manifestation of the software, ideally in a planned and structured process. Therefore, software development may include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products.
Over the years at PSPL we have been involved in a large and various kinds of software development in various domains staring from Utility (Energy) to Education and even Payroll system and many more sectors. Right from the inception of PSPL we have worked with the Orissa State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd and Directorate of Treasuries & Inspection, Odisha to build software with a purpose to automate their Payroll Accounting system and get the process of digitization of the salary and pension for the organisation. In terms of Utility (Energy) we have worked extensively for the software development to make the billing process in various parts of the state get completely automated for both domestic and commercial categories. This facilitated the officers of the division to get higher billing ratio and even increased the payment ratio. Back then in 1991 when making and submission of final certificates was one of the toughest jobs for an university we had developed a software for conversion of English font to Odiya font for the printing of Backlog Final Year Certificates which facilitated Utkal University. Of late we have been designing software and working with Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency to get a completely automated Customer Relationship Management Solution and setting up a customer care centre for the existing beneficiaries of the solar products.
